What are your go-to-fridge-foods? | This Mama Cooks! On a Diet?

minifridge

In our new house have two full sized refrigerators and a mini fridge. It?s really a bit ridiculous, especially since we have a large chest freezer, too. However, all three refrigerators contain my go-to-fridge-foods and drinks. For example, the mini-fridge has bottled water for the kids to take in their lunch bags, and Coke Zeros for me. It?s the fridge nearest my office, so I occasionally keep some snacks in there.

The fridge in my husband?s workshop is known as the ?Beer Fridge.? It has taps on the side connected to kegs of home brew as well as cans of beer for Smoked Beer Can Chicken. It?s also where I keep my gluten free cider and cans of flavored seltzer water.

The main fridge is, of course, in the kitchen. That?s where I keep the stuff that most people have in their fridge ? milk, juice, leftovers, eggs, salad fixings, and so on. It?s also where I stash our go-to-fridge-foods which include:

  • Greek yogurt
  • salsa
  • white wine
  • barbecue sauce
  • homemade salad dressing
  • cheese in all its glorious forms
  • cold cuts for school and work lunches
  • bread (whole wheat and gluten free)
  • tortillas (flour, corn and brown rice)
  • buttery spread
  • diet Ginger Ale (a new addiction of ours)
  • soy milk for me
  • arugula

And more!

What are your go-to-fridge-foods?

I ask what are your go-to-fridge-foods because LG is having a food fight of sorts to see who will have the honor of being in the Door-in-Door? space of their LG Super-Capacity 3 Door French Door Refrigerator. You see, four foods (Yogurt, Juice Box, Mustard and Diet Soda) are competing in LG's Food Fight. The winner will get the last Door-in-Door space. It?s a really cute app with some interaction, so play it with the kids and see who wins.

While you?re visiting LG's Food Fight, enter the LG Door-In-Door? Fridge Sweepstakes. All you need to do is answer all five questions for a chance to win the LG Door-In-Door? Fridge and weekly gift cards from The Home Depot and Best Buy. Hint: it helps to play LG?s Food Fight before trying to answer the questions, otherwise you?ll have no idea how to answer them!

Refrigerator lust

LG FoodFightHave you seen the LG Super-Capacity 3 Door French Door Refrigerator? Oh my! I saw it at Best Buy and loved the Door-in-Door feature. I thought the idea of keeping foods you use all the time like milk, soda or snacks in a special in-door section was such a cool idea. The Door-in-Door?s additional shelf space gives you another way to keep your refrigerator organized, too.

Unfortunately, the LG Super-Capacity 3 Door French Door Refrigerator wasn?t in our price range and the dimensions weren?t right for our kitchen, so we bought a side-by-side by another brand. (A purchase I?m not 100% thrilled with, by the way, mostly because the space in our kitchen isn?t optional for a side-by-side or French door refrigerator.)

If you had a LG Super-Capacity 3 Door French Door Refrigerator, what type of go-to-fridge-foods would you keep in the Door-In-Door?

More about the Door-in-Door

For those quick trips to the fridge, the Door-in-Door is a magnetically sealed section of the refrigerator that allows you to access the door bin without opening the entire refrigerator. Due to the Door-In-Door feature, less cool air escapes when the easy access compartment is opened, keeping cold air in the rest of the fridge, where it matters most. Whether it's a refreshing drink, condiments or a healthy snack, the Door-in-Door is the ideal space for quick access to your family's go-to foods such as canned or bottled drinks, salad dressings and condiments.
