The Bible seems to be one rich tapestry of wedding feast imagery, and I wanted to ask all married couples and families as well as those who are discerning marriage, how the imagery of a wedding feast that saturates the entire Bible and all of Church history and tradition influenced your courtship and marriage discernment, and how does it play a part in your relationship of self-giving love for your spouse?
You can take this wherever you like. Please bring in any references to Blessed John Paul II's marital philosophy, theology, and nuptial mysticism that you can muster. John Paul Ii was the first witness to Christ's love for His Church that I was ever pinched by on the day that he died. Truly unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it does not bear fruit. But John Paul II dying to self, and dying a holy death to the Lord, bore much great fruit, and this here be one of the grains which grew into a great harvest.
God bless you all, and I hope that this thread spurs some fruitful dialogue and prayerful discussion and loving Communion amongst all families within the Church and the human family at large.
(Almost forgot! How has devotion of you and your spouse to the Eucharist and Eucharistic worship and adoration blessed your marriage?)
God bless you and thanks be to God.
